Q. How do I reserve my wedding date?
Congratulations on your engagement! Enchanting Looks is here is make sure you look flawless on your big day. Weddings are booked on a first come, first served basis, based upon when the deposit arrives. Weddings can book as early as 10+ months in advance, so it’s imperative to contact us as soon as possible.
First, send us your wedding details via the Contact page. Elizabeth will reply as soon as possible to confirm that your date is available, as well as instructions on how to proceed.
The cost of the preview also acts as a deposit for your wedding date. Your wedding date is reserved (no other brides can book it) once your deposit is received. The preview deposit is non-refundable. Your date will not be reserved without a deposit.
The contract is reviewed and signed during the preview. A 50% non-refundable deposit of the contract total is due at this time.
Q. Do I have to schedule a preview?
We suggest that every bride schedules a preview so we can ensure they get exactly what they want and the wedding day styling goes smoothly. However, if your circumstances don’t allow you to schedule a preview before hand, we are still happy to provide services at your wedding. We require a little extra time in these cases so we can get a chance to figure out exactly what you want.
A non refundable, $100 deposit is still required to hold your wedding date without a preview. This deposit is fully applied to your contract balance.
Q. Are there any service minimums?
Yes. There must be at least 1 bride receiving both hair and makeup for all Saturday weddings, plus at least 2 additional services.
(For example, 1 bride receiving hair and makeup, 1 bridesmaid receiving hair, and 1 mom receiving hair OR 1 bride receiving hair and makeup, etc.)
If the bride is only receiving hair OR makeup services, there must be at least 4 other services booked for a Saturday wedding.
(For example, 1 bride receiving just hair, 1 bridesmaid receiving hair and makeup, and 2 moms receiving makeup styling.)
For all other days of the week, the bride must be receiving both hair and makeup styling, or 3 other services must be booked.
A flower girl does not count towards service minimums. Contact me if you have any questions about the service minimums!
Q. Can I add or subtract services before the wedding?
You may add services and people up to one week before the wedding, if Enchanting Looks has confirmed that time allows it.
You may subtract services from your contract at any time up to 2 weeks before the date of service and only lose the deposit for those services. After that, you will be charged 100% of the quoted rate. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Q. How do your prices compare with others?
Enchanting Looks’ prices are extremely competitive. We’ve researched other companies all over North Carolina to determine our costs, and can assure you that you would be hard pressed to find lower prices for the same quality you will receive with Enchanting Looks. The fact of the matter is, you get what you pay for. You may find others with cheaper rates, but we can confidently say that their services won’t be up to par with ours.
Q. What kind of make-up do you use?
We are proud to use all MAC Make-Up cosmetics. MAC products go on light to full coverage, depending on application, and leave the skin feeling light, not heavy or greasy. The pigments are strong and long lasting, with most of the products being long wear and water resistant.
We use the Dinair System for airbrush makeup. Airbrush makeup can also be used to cover varicose veins, tattoos, birthmarks, etc.
Q. Do you clean all your tools?
We clean all of our brushes between jobs with a disinfecting make-up brush cleaner. We never use the same wand, eye shadow applicator, or lip gloss applicator twice. We soak our hair brushes and combs in a disinfectant between jobs as well. Your health and safety is a primary concern and we would never jeopardize it by using unclean products or product applicators.
Q. Will you come to me?
Providing styling services on location is our specialty. We provide service in a 100 mile radius from Washington Acres in Hampstead, North Carolina. This includes all of New Hanover County, Pender County, and Onslow County in North Carolina.
These cities include (but are not limited to):
Wrightsville Beach, Wilmington, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, New Bern, Burgaw, Topsail Beach, Surf City, Holly Ridge, Jacksonville, Swansboro, Southport, Oak Island, and Emerald Isle.
Previews take place at our home office in Hampstead, NC.
Q. Do you charge for traveling?
Yes, Travel is $0.45 per mile, round trip, starting at Pinnacle Parkway, Hampstead, NC.
Q. How long does it take to style each person?
The bride generally requires about 50+ minutes per service. Attendants usually take about 30 minutes per service. This is only an approximate time base, and some may take more or less time. The entire bridal party, including the bride, will want to be completed about two hours before the ceremony, or one hour before pictures begin. This allows for things like “getting ready” pictures, styling changes, and sips of champagne before your gowns go on!
Q. What if I’m not happy with my look?
We will have a thorough verbal consultation with each client before we begin styling. Subtle changes can make all the difference, and we will teak and change your look until you are satisfied. We aren’t happy until you are happy!
If you are still not satisfied with your look after your preview, your wedding date is immediately released to other brides. You are welcome to schedule another preview if your date is still available later on.
Q. Do I need an assistant?
Whether or not you need an assistant will be determined at the preview, depending on the number of services and timeline. An assistant is always necessary when there are 4 or more attendants booking both hair and makeup, along with the bride.
An assistant is very helpful in speeding up the styling process and ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently, no matter how large the bridal party is.
There is one $70 fee to add an assistant.
Q. Can I use my preview for my engagement photos?
We don’t recommend that brides use their preview for their engagement session, unless they want their hair and makeup to be styled the same in their engagement photos as it will be styled on the wedding day. We do offer individual styling packages for special occasions, such as photo sessions.
Q. Do you offer discounts for large parties?
Yes. We offer a 10% discount when 10 moms/bridesmaids book both hair and make-up, along with the bride’s hair and make-up.
We also offer a 10% discount to brides who are active duty military or marrying someone who is actively serving in the United States Armed Forces.
